Privacy Policy

Effective April 17, 2026

The short version

  • If you use FRQ Review without an account, nothing is saved — close the tab and your grade is gone.
  • With a free account, we save the image of your response and the AI feedback you received so you can come back to it.
  • We do not save the FRQ prompt text itself.
  • AI grading is performed by Google (Gemini 2.5) on Basic plans and by Anthropic (Claude) on Plus plans. Your submission is sent to the relevant provider to generate feedback.
  • History is stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) and tied to your account. You can download or delete everything from Settings.

What we collect

  • Account info: display name and email if you create an account. (No-account users don't give us any of this.)
  • Grading data (account users only): the response image you upload, the rubric mode you chose, and the feedback our model generated. The prompt text is processed to generate feedback and then discarded — it's never stored alongside your history. If you use the site without an account, none of this is saved after you close the tab.
  • Usage data: basic device and browser info to keep the site working and to detect abuse.
  • Billing data: if you subscribe to Plus, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We only see subscription status and the last 4 digits.

How we use it

  • To run grading and show you your history (if you have an account).
  • To process payments and prevent fraud.
  • To respond when you contact us.

Third parties we rely on

FRQ Review is a small site — we use a few well-known providers to make grading, ads, and billing work:

  • Google Gemini — AI grading on Basic plans. See “AI grading and how your data is processed” below.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI grading on Plus plans. See “AI grading and how your data is processed” below.
  • Google AdSense — ad delivery on the Basic (no-account + free-account) experience. AdSense may set cookies or identifiers on your device to measure and target ads, governed by Google's ad policies. Plus removes ads entirely.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Plus subscriptions. Stripe receives and stores your card details under their own terms; we never see the full card number.

AI grading and how your data is processed

AI grading is currently handled by two providers depending on your plan:

  • Basic (no-account and free-account): Google Gemini 2.5 Flash. Your prompt, rubric, and response image are sent to Google to produce feedback.
  • Plus: Anthropic Claude. Your prompt, rubric, and response image are sent to Anthropic to produce feedback.

We opt out of using your submissions for model training/improvement wherever each provider makes that option available to us, to our knowledge. Grading data sent to Google is subject to Google's privacy policy and the applicable Gemini API terms. Grading data sent to Anthropic is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy and the applicable Claude API terms.

The AI providers may change over time as better or more affordable models become available. If we switch providers, we'll update this page and bump the effective date.

Your content, your control

You own what you upload. You must have the legal right to upload it (see Terms). We use your content only to provide the service and keep the license limited to that purpose.

Data retention & deletion

  • Graded history stays until you delete it. Use Clear history in Settings or delete items one at a time.
  • Closing your account removes your profile and graded history within 30 days.
  • We may keep limited records (billing, abuse reports) as required by law.

Kids & schools

FRQ Review is intended for users aged 13 and up. If you're under 13, please don't create an account or submit content. For school deployments we offer a Classroom plan with a separate data agreement — contact us for details.

Security

We follow reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password.

Changes

We'll update this page when things change and bump the effective date at the top.
